I check the owncloud documentation and tried all listed solutions. After configuring everything the client is unable to sync our files. I finally sunk my head and decided to use the file sync client on my windows server. I tried several methods of the external storage and not one worked. The external storage claims to mount smb, FTP, Google Drive, Amazon, among others.

I could not find any documentation on how to resolve the issue. I log into my server and I'm able to mount, read, and write to the server. I check my windows server and it's share is working without a hitch. I verify that owncloud links still work, but this time the external storage isn't functioning. The long link still works and we are happy for a few more months. After following the documentation on Owncloud's site I removed links and we used the longer link.

After the update the links addon was no longer considered stable and actually caused a few minor errors in Owncloud.

After the updates finished I opened our shared link to see an upgrade message. One morning I updated my server via its repositories and saw owncloud in the listing. Plugging the first link into the shortner I got my shortened link and was quite happy with it for a few months. The link was long and I saw another addon for a link shortener. From there we generated a password protected download/upload link. We originally used the External Storage addon to enable us to connect to our existing windows file server.

Our owncloud was setup to replace our FTP Server. Just updated the server from 8.0.4 to 8.1 earlier this morning, actually.Ĭertainly. I've actually been able to update via yum repositories and haven't had a single problem.
